Koroni

Zaga Beach in Koroni

The fishing village of Koroni became famous in earlier times for its harbour, from where olive oil and raisins from the region were exported all over the world. Today, several holiday homes are located on the edge of the town in the former fishermen’s quarter, directly by the beach. The town features a charming promenade with numerous tavernas, cafés, and small shops. Koroni’s narrow streets, winding uphill, evoke the atmosphere of a small island and give the town its unique charm. Towering above the town is the impressive Venetian castle – the Kastro with its monastery. Behind the castle hill, the beautiful sandy beaches of Zaga and Memi stretch along the coast.

On the edge of Koroni – within walking distance of the centre – above Zaga Beach, you will find the holiday apartment Maria-Sofia.

Just outside the charming town centre of Koroni and above the beautiful Zaga Beach are the holiday homes Takis Bizos, Rigotis, Jorgos 1+2, Anastassia, and Bizos, all offering views across the Messenian Gulf as far as Mani.

To the west of Koroni’s town centre lies the small district of Assini, with wide views over the Messenian Bay and the sea. In an idyllic green setting, with lovely sea views towards the Mani peninsula opposite, are the tastefully furnished holiday apartments Assini View and Assini Spitaki.

About 6 km south of Koroni, in the Lakoules district, in an elevated position above the sea with a unique view over Zaga and Memi Beach, are Villa Türkis with pool and the holiday apartment Margarita.

South of Koroni, slightly inland, lies the typical Greek village of Vassilitsi with its plateia, tavernas, kafeneia, and shopping facilities. A few kilometres further towards the coast is the picturesque district of Faneromeni, above the beautiful bays of Ammoudi. Villa Katerina with private pool is located in Ammoudi Bay, while Villa Ammoudi is situated directly above the bay.
