South of Koroni, slightly inland, lies the typical Greek village of Vassilitsi with its plateia, taverns, kafenions, and shopping facilities. A few kilometres towards the coast, the picturesque area of Ammoudi is situated above the bay of the same name. It is a charming landscape with a number of holiday homes. Quiet, idyllic, and with fantastic views over the Messenian Gulf, the houses are built along the slopes above the bay.
