Ermioni is a small, beautiful and well-kept village that resembles a pine-covered island. Many villas and holiday homes are hidden among the trees. Ermioni is well known for its fish tavernas. This picturesque village looks back on a glorious past. In ancient times, in the 5th century BC, the city-state of Ermioni was famous for its production of purple dye. This precious natural dye, extracted from sea snails, was reserved for emperors and kings.

It is well connected from the Argolic mainland, with easy access from Ermioni to the islands of Spetses, Hydra, and Aegina.
