The northern coastline of Crete, stretching from the Apokoronas Peninsula via Rethymno to Heraklion, is characterized by its diverse and green landscape. Around Rethymno, you will find extensive sandy beaches, while further east the scenery becomes more rugged, with rocky outcrops and sheltered bays.

The traditional Cretan villages of Aghia Triada and Loutra are located about 11 km east of Rethymno. From Aghia Triada, you can enjoy wide views over the fertile valley all the way to the sea.
