Lefkas

Die Inselgruppe liegt im Ionischen Meer westlich des griechischen Festlands und des Peloponnes. Lefkas (griechisch: Lefkada) liegt südlich der Insel Korfu, als einzige der Ionischen Inseln ist Lefkas über eine Kanalbrücke mit dem Festland verbunden. Die Insel zeichnet sich im Westen durch steil abfallende Küsten mit schönen Sandbuchten und im Osten durch eine lieblichere flache Landschaft rund um die Hafenstadt Lefkada aus. Als Sehenswürdigkeiten von Lefkas gelten unter anderen die Marina von Lefkada, die verwinkelte Altstadt und die venezianische Festung Santa Maura.
