Lefkimmi is the second-largest town on Corfu, located in the southernmost part of the island, approximately 40 km from Corfu Town. In the narrow streets of this small town, you will find many well-preserved old mansions as well as modern buildings. Along both banks of the river, tavernas and cafés line up side by side.
South of the mouth of the river of the same name and about 2 km southeast of the town lies the port of Lefkimmi, which has developed in recent years into the island’s second harbour. It serves as a base for local fishermen who unload their catch there, which is then offered fresh in nearby tavernas as part of simple, authentic Greek cuisine.
From here, there is a daily ferry connection to Igoumenitsa on the opposite mainland coast. The distance is slightly shorter than from Corfu Town, making it ideal for arrivals and departures to and from the southern part of the island.
South of the port, the modest small resort of Aghios Petros stretches along the coast. Small hotel complexes, holiday houses, and apartments are located directly on the flat shoreline, overlooking the opposite coast of Epirus.
A bit further south, near Kavos at the southern tip of Corfu, the atmosphere becomes livelier. Here you will find a wide selection of bars, tavernas, cafés, and shops. Quiet and beautiful sandy coves and shallow beaches are located within a few kilometres around Aghios Petros.
In the peaceful area of Aghios Petros, directly by the sea with private access to the water and surrounded by a beautiful garden, lies the holiday complex Irini. It consists of three buildings with the accommodations Irini, Irini Studio 1, Irini Studio 2, Irini Studio 8, and Irini Apartment.
